SCHOLAR RESEARCH PROGRAMME

The EJLB Foundation’s Scholar Research Programme was established 15 years ago to provide outstanding young researchers with an opportunity to launch their scientific careers.

Under the terms of this Programme, three (3) grants of $350,000 each are awarded each year to young scientists who have earned an M.D. and/or a Ph.D. degree, have completed their post-graduate training and have been admitted in the preceding seven (7) years as faculty members of a leading university or affiliated non profit research centre. All research is to be carried out exclusively at Canadian universities or affiliated non profit research centres.

The EJLB Foundation’s Scientific Advisory Committee reviews and evaluates all applications to the Scholar Research Programme.


End of Programme

Under the terms of the Scholar Research Programme, The EJLB Foundation has, over the last 15 years, awarded grants totalling $23,550,000 to promote the research career of 76 outstanding young scientists.

The Foundation deemed it appropriate to bring the Scholar Research Programme to a close in 2009 and it is most grateful to the members of its Scientific Advisory Committee for their commitment over the years and the valuable advice they have provided.
